    CLEAN WATER FOR RAIRI
    I am Johannes den Hoed from the Netherlands or in the language of the Luo tribe Johannes Omondi. However I have been several times in Kenya, I never experienced the drought in the beginning of the year, and it is worse than what I could imagine. I live in Rairi village, part of Kanyadhiang, a farmer village close to Kendu Bay and Lake Victoria. If the wind blows from the west over the lake, it will carry some water, but the rain will fall only in higher areas where the air is cooling down. We are lucky to have a well on our property, however it is almost not giving water anymore, and we still have two dry month to go. We have a connection to the government water system, but there is no water coming out. Villagers that have no well now depend on dirty water from a pond or a nearby river. Therefore we like to create a well with hand pump for the village. We have found a place where we expect a lot of water and we want to digg deep to have enough water throughout the year
